Solider Feet and Baby Shots

The day before we flew out to Utah for our summer vacation we got to deal with solider feet and baby shots.

Byron finished his Civil War Camp with a pumped up ego and some extremely sore feet. In the morning the soldiers had to do hike through a creek which got there feet soaked. Byron didn't know to air out his feet at lunch so he spent the next 4 back breaking hours in soggy socks. Needless to say as proud as he was for accomplishing all he did he was pretty close to tears, and who wouldn't be with feet like that.

Cyrus also got his first set of immunizations. Always such a sad thing. He of course was not pleased but tried to solider on like his brother.

Leaving on A Jet Plane..

And were off to Utah to bless baby Cy and visit with friends and family. We have been waiting for this trip for a long time. We were very worried about taking Cy on the airplane. He hasn't been as predictable a baby as Byron was. So in order to curb nasty glances from other passengers we decided to dress him up in something ridiculously cute. I think it worked. Instead of crustys we got ohhs and ahhs and a baby that slept the entire time.

Kissin Cousins

Baby Cy and Baby Ryan meet and become instant buds. Ryan is 6 months and Cy is 2 which is why Ryan has all these adorable expressions and Cy still has his newborn mug.

The amazing Aunt Marisa rangling them both and providing us with the most fabulous of meals.

Just to be clear these two cousins didn't kiss but they did have a ton of fun camping together for 4 days. I still can't believe we let Byron go off with out us for that long. He really is growing up.

Utah Green

We were so pleased when we arrived to see that Utah had experienced a wet spring which left the mountains a beautiful and lush green. Porter couldn't wait to get up in them. We had a lovely picnic when his mom and stepdad and his brother Brian and family. It felt strange to have a family outing without Byron who was camping with his other cousins at Bear Lake.

Uncle David Adventures

Byron was able to spend a couple of days with his Uncle David doing some extreme sports. A day rock climbing and biking on a bmx course, what could be more fun?

Hodges Day

We were so glad that my parents were able to make it out to Utah to meet baby Cy. We had a wonderful day picnicking and hiking in Provo canyon.

Family Photo Awesomeness

My amazing sister-in-law and brother took our family pictures. They did such an amazing job I can't believe how photogenic Byron is, he looked amazing in every single shot I can't wait to get these up on the wall.

Chores and the 6 12

We were very fortunate to be able to visit Byron and Cy's greatgranparents. We love them so much. Porter always tells Byron about when he was a boy and how his grandpa would give him chores to earn money to take to the local convenience store, the 6 12 to buy candies. So Byron asked greatgrandpa for some chores and then got some money and a trip to the 6 12 it was great fun.

45 minute Detour?

So after visiting with Great Grandpa we decided to take a quick detour to see Craters of The Moon National Park. Unfortunately our quick detour ended up adding 4 hours to our drive home, but it was worth it. Byron and Porter had a great time exploring some of the lava caves and Cy enjoyed a nice nap by the lava flows.

Our last Hours with Aunt Jen

We are so lucky to have such awesome family. Our last few hours were spent playing games with cousins. We sure are going to miss them.

Were Back and Baby's got a new toy

So we can't get Cy to stop standing so to save our backs we bought him an excersaucer. I can't believe that our 2 month old likes playing in this already.

It's good to be home.
