Byron had his first band concert Thursday night. He was so excited. He did an amazing job. We were very proud. He is also in the choir so after the band performance he put away his trumpet and went on stage to sing. He was so happy up there singing away.

Then during the last 2 minutes of the performance he grabs his throat, then his head and he starts to cry and then crumple. I rushed up on stage and grabbed him just as he was going down. He said he had a horrible pain in his ears and his stomach and that he couldn't see so good. I had him sit down with his head between his legs and tried to cool him off. His music teacher came up to us and said he was probably dehydrated or didn't breath enough on stage. I was agreeing with her, until he started throwing up all over. Fortunately Porter had gotten him outside by this time. So he only threw up in front of half the school.
By the time we got him home he was starting to feel a bit better, just worn out. Since the school has a 24 hour no throw up policy and since he threw up pretty much in front of the principle he was pretty much guaranteed a day off of school. He did recover the next day although he was still pretty weak and couldn't really eat anything. So our little man had quite his first solo performance. Fortunately he is a boy and does not find it mortifying that he threw up in front of the school body. I think he thinks it makes him cool. =) Boy's, go figure.

Poor Byron, thats a lot of events in one short period of time! Sounds like he has got some music skills though!
Holy cow! Poor Byron! I'm glad he's recovered. And yes, it is a good thing he's a boy. If that would have been Zoe, we would have had to switch schools.
